Helping Out New Mommas

Yep, it’s true that our schedules, priorities, values, sleep habits, etc. have changed SO much over the past few weeks…..and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t feel overwhelmed at times, but having a solid support system has helped me transition into my new role as a mom.

Another HUGE help was the “Meal Train” that one of my co-workers volunteered to organize for us.  I simply provided our address and decided the dates and times I wanted the meals to be delivered (I opted for meals on Tuesdays and Thursday’s.). She sent the meal train out to my co-workers and if they were willing to make a meal, they simply picked a date and indicated what food they planned to provide.

Two meals a week is the perfect amount for us, with plenty of leftovers to enjoy on the “off” days.  And the meals that have been provided….WOW! Homemade breads, desserts, salads, and delicious entrees, I might have a baby every year just for the good food!;)

But as much as I enjoy the meals that are provided, I also look forward to the time I get to spend talking to my friends. It’s nice to have a break and enjoy some adult conversations. 🙂

If you’re looking for a way to help out a new mom, ask if she’s willing to let you organize a meal train for her family. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the love and support!
