When it comes to pampering, getting my nails done is one of my favorite things! It started when I was really young….you can even ask Kristina. In 5th grade, we had BIG dreams of opening our own nail salon. Our speciality was custom nail art! 🙂
Last weekend, I picked-up the Sally Hansen Miracle gel polish that you may have seen being advertised on TV. The polish claims to last for 14 days, without the use of a base coat or UV light. I was intrigued and decided to give it a try.
I purchased the color, “Too Haute”, on the recommendation of my 6 year old niece. Personally, I would have picked a different color, but she was convinced that it was PERFECT for spring!
Application:
I applied the polish to clean, dry nails. When I opened the bottle, I was pleasantly surprised by the rounded shape of the application brush. It made it very easy to apply the polish around the base/cuticles of my nails.
Coverage:
This specific polish does not require a base coat and two even coats of the color provided great coverage. I allowed the color coat to dry for a few minutes before applying the top coat. (The top coat also had the rounded brush.)
Results:
EXCELLENT! Here is a picture of my nails after 5 days of wear. (I think it’s important to note that I am constantly washing my hands….it’s one of the downside of working with young children.) The color is still vibrant with little to no wear around the edge of my nails….and the top coat is still as glossy as the day I applied it. While it’s doubtful that this polish will last a full 14 days on my nails, I’m VERY happy with the results and plan to purchase a few additional colors.
Do you have a favorite nail polish? Or a go-to color for spring?
