Babymoon in Ft. Lauderdale

Five days of rest and relaxation was just what the doctor ordered two weeks ago when we packed our bags and headed to sunny Ft. Lauderdale.  It was an easy two hour flight that was successful thanks to some of the babymoon pre-planning ideas I shared last week.

Our flight left at the crack of dawn….literally, it left at 6:30 AM.  I know what you’re thinking…..who in their right mind picks the 6:30AM flight for a relaxing vacation?… and you’re right, because I thought the exact same thing when our wake-up call happened at 3:30.  But honestly, it was totally worth the lack of sleep to be able to spend an entire day in Ft. Lauderdale.  Here we are at 4:30 AM, sipping on hot chocolate and coffee…

Cheers to our babymoon!

By 9:30, we had landed in Ft. Lauderdale, picked up our bags, and headed straight to the rental car.  Ken rented a Mustang convertible and it was worth every.last.penny.

Accommodations:

We stayed in a quaint little pool house that we rented through the AirBnB website.  This site was recommended to us a few years ago when we traveled to Europe, but this was our first experience booking a reservation in the US.  If you’re not familiar with the website, I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Our days were spent relaxing at the pool/beach, eating delicious meals, soaking in the sun, and enjoying each others’ company.

Keepsakes:

As a way to remember our trip, we picked up this cute stuffed animal at the Disney resort.  Minnie Mouse was too cute to pass up! 🙂

The babymoon was the perfect way to spend the last few weeks a family of two.  Although it was fun to think about the fact that we were technically traveling as a family of 3.

With 5 weeks left in my pregnancy, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby girl.  Here’s to hoping those 5 weeks go quickly and our baby girls is healthy and happy when she is born!
