I still remember when I found out that I was going to be an aunt for the first time. I was in the Home Depot parking lot with my brother, Nick, and his wife, Mary Jo, called. She was screaming, “I’M PREGNANT!” I was over the moon, and 14 years old.
Today, I have 11 nieces and nephews! This weekend was a special one, though. My brother, Nick, came to visit with Mary Jo and my three nieces: Kayla, Natalie and Olivia. I love them all very much.
Kayla, well, she was my first niece. I spent the most time with her growing up from piggy back rides to pretend house. That girl had me wrapped around her finger. She used to call me Aunt Bistina, and I loved it. She’s a constant reminder of how time goes by so quickly.
Natalie has always been the dramatic one. She’s either making the entire room laugh with impersonations, or she’s proving a very serious case of why her older sister is a mean person. I don’t know what she will grow up to be, but I’m sure she will be amazing.
Olivia is my youngest niece. At the age of six, I watch her smile throughout the entire day. It doesn’t matter what she’s doing. She’s just incredibly sweet, and smart.
I can’t wait to watch them grow and become amazing, strong women. Here are some great pics of this weekend!
