Roadblock

Change of plans…I hit a road block in the nursery this weekend.  I had hoped to share the crib we decided to keep and all the research I did to find the perfect “one”, but the hours flew by this weekend and the crib is still sitting in the original box.  As of last night, the nursery currently looks like this….

The base molding was installed earlier this week which puts us one step closer to moving upstairs.  I hoping for a Christmas move-in date 🙂

The search for inexpensive nursery items continues as I shared last week with the mood board that I created.  My goal is to furnish the entire nursery with a budget of $1,000- $1,500.  I’ve quickly come to realize that baby stuff is ridiculously expensive and the costs can add up quickly.  I’m going to have to be very careful with the purchases that I make, but consider this challenge accepted!

One purchase I made this weekend was a glass top end table.  I’m no stranger to searching local thrift stores and Craigslist, and when I spotted this end table…I knew it had to be mine.  It was a steal at $5.00!!  I love the all wood frame and clean lines.  The glass top was also appealing to me since it should be easy to clean-up milk spills from midnight feedings.  🙂  Some vibrant spray paint and possibly gold dipped legs….can you see my vision?  Below is a picture of the end table I purchased along with one that is currently for sale on Target’s website.

Next week is packed with baby-related appointments.  On Thursday we have our first ultrasound where we hope to find out the gender of Baby M. We scheduled a photography session with a friend following the appointment, and ordered gender reveal poppers from Esty in both pink and blue.  My plan is to take the poppers with us to the appointment and have the doctor place a gold star on the correct one.  I’m anxious to capture our reactions as we find out if Baby M is a boy or a girl.

Now if only I could decide on a wardrobe….
