Did I mention…bedtime is in the near future!

Sometimes life can get a little crazy, and when it does you need people to share in the craziness of it. Through good crazy and bad crazy these crazies have had my back and I love them for it!

1. What is the best meal you have ever had, and where was it from?

I’m not much of a “foodie” and I’m a terrible cook, but I can follow recipe directions and I’m great at picking up meals at the drive through or our local pizza place. With that being said, pretty much anything is delicious to me, however, in South Jersey on a country road is restaurant in the form of shack that has THE most amazing Italian food. I don’t recall the name but my husband and I frequented this restaurant when we lived in South Jersey. The prices were great and the chef was sent to Italy every six months to freshen up on his skills. It was one of those places where no matter what you ordered you knew it would be delicious!

2. If you wrote a song, what would it be about?

I have become quite the lyricist since having children. I have made up songs about poop, fruits and veggies and everything in between.

3. What is your most favorite time of day?

My favorite time of day is late evening, after dinner and the dishes have been cleaned up. The stress of the day is pretty much over and bedtime is in the near future. I love sitting on the floor with my husband playing with our daughters and just really enjoying being with one another.  Did I mention bedtime is in the near future?

4. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I think, right now…28! I have two beautiful daughters, a husband that takes wonderful care of our family, healthy parents and in-laws, amazing siblings, and a great group of girlfriends!

5. What physical or emotional quirk were you born with?

I have a terrible temper. Most people including most of my girlfriends have never seen it but my husband has seen it and so has my family. I’m really good at hiding it but when it comes out…look out, because I throw things.

6. If you could change one thing about yourself, today, what would it be?

I wish I had better time management skills. I can plan my entire day on paper, but to actually do it is a totally different situation!

7. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make your rich?

Being a parent! It is the best and most fulfilling job I have ever had, however it does not pay the bills!  I am so lucky to have a husband who works his butt off to take care of us and so fortunate to be able to stay home with my girls.

8. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?

My Pap. He unfortunately died when I was a baby, so technically I did meet him, but I never knew him. My Dad has always spoken so highly of him and I feel a connection with him just by looking at pictures of him.

9. What do you get complimented on the most?

Pre-children I would get complimented on my hair all the time. It was a great color blonde, sometimes curly, sometimes straight, sometimes long, and sometimes short.  My hair was always a huge part of who I was.  When I got pregnant with Sydney that all changed!  I didn’t get my hair done the entire time I was pregnant.  It became super super thick and the color was an awful mousy dirty blonde.  Since having Elliot I have gone back to my roots (no pun intended, ha) and am happy to be super blond again!   Post-children, I get complimented on my beautiful babies. I must say, my husband and I make some pretty good looking little humans and I prefer to be complimented on them rather than myself.

10. What have been the top 3 most brilliant days of this year?

#1. This is a tie between Sydney’s 1st birthday and Elliot’s birth! The two events were only 27 days apart! Sydney’s birthday was an amazing day filled with family, presents, and of course cake! The day I had Elliot was just as amazing but with more pain and less cake.

#2. Meagan’s wedding! This much anticipated event went above and beyond what I had expected! The entire weekend was great from start to finish. We had the best time getting Meagan ready, getting our hair done and just enjoying one another. I look back on the actual day and treasure every moment. It was such a special day not only to see my best friend marry the man of her dreams but to be able to share it with her!

#3. I also had the pleasure of being in my best friend from college’s wedding! This was such a great day to be a part of! Christy and I were roommates our freshman year of college and quickly she became like a sister to me. Most of my college memories are of the two of us acting like total morons!

11. What is something you have given a lot of thought to lately?

My girls growing up. The past week has been very bittersweet for me. On Monday, Sydney will be turning two and next month Elliot will be turning one. I’m excited and scared for their future. The world can be such a cruel place and girls can be especially cruel to one another. I pray that I can raise them to be strong women who love themselves. But in the meantime, I’m going to enjoy all the craziness that they bring to my life!

Check back next week for some great new topics!
